New FMCSA Regulation updates for 2020

On Friday, Dec. 27, the FMCSA announced that it is increasing the annual minimum percentage rate for random controlled substances testing for drivers of commercial motor vehicles from 25% to 50% of the average number of driver positions. The rate increase becomes effective Jan. 1, 2020. The minimum annual percentage rate for random alcohol testing will remain at 10%.

Indiana Testing Inc. (ITI) will automatically increase your random testing pool rates to the new 2020 required 50% to ensure successful compliance.

Also, a reminder that the FMCSA Clearinghouse mandate is quickly approaching, effective date Jan. 6, 2020. All employers of commercial motor vehicle drivers must be registered and start to utilize the FMCSA Clearinghouse on Jan. 6, 2020. You must be registered and pull a full query on any new hires starting Jan. 6, 2020.
