Updates on Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) by FMCSA

Posted: Sep, 5th 2019

On August 23, 2019 the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) had one of two planned public listening sessions about the recent Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). Items that were open to suggestions or comments included: the 30-minute break, the extension of the 100 air-mile radius exemption to 150 air-mile radius for CDL drivers, the modification of the split sleeper berth, and adding additional time to the adverse driving conditions exemption. There will be another public session sometime in September.  If anyone has suggestions, please send them to the FMCSA or you may be able to participate in the next session which will be streamed over the internet.   Please check the FMCSA website for the next listening session and continued updates.
